About Sushi@School

In 2008 with school aged kids and a lifetime spend across various advertising and marketing roles, Michelle took the plunge to follow her passion – Providing local schools with affordable healthy, nutritious and delicious school lunches for their students.

Since 2009 she has built Sushi@School into a thriving business helping hundreds of schools across Melbourne deliver healthy and delicious sushi lunches as well as helping schools (PFA’s) raise valuable funds for their school community.

Sushi@School takes great pride in being Melbourne’s only lunch supplier to schools that caters for both canteen lunch orders as well as school fundraising events and initiatives.
Michelle’s focus on delivering friendly customer service and advice combined with a quality product are key to her success and recognised by the many schools who choose Sushi@School.

We’re committed to sustaining our environment!

We are committed to being good stewards of the environment. We aim to only use compostable or 100% recycled packaging and consistently strive towards reducing the carbon footprint.

Twin pack base

Our compostable pack bases are made from sugarcane bagasse, a waste material that’s the dry fibrous waste residue left after the sugarcane stalks have been crushed.

Less energy is required to make bagasse products compared to pulping wood for paper products.

It is made to decompose in commercial composting facility within 60 to 90 days and is suitable for home composting.

Twin pack lid

The new pack lids are made from PET plastic, the most common type of plastic produced and used worldwide.

Durable, versatile and 100% recyclable when correctly disposed of PET is one of the easiest plastics to recycle – recycled into many things like PET bottles, jars, to clothing, outdoor furniture and decking and even roads!

PET is a valid and sustainable part of the ‘circular economy’, geared to reducing all waste in the environment to a minimum.

Delivery Bags

Our delivery paper bags used for Ready-For-Classroom orders are made from FSC™ Mix or FSC™ Recycled paper.

FSC certification is considered the “gold standard” designation for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious and economically viable.

They are suitable for home composting and recyclable in kerbside recycling.

Watch this space as we continue our journey to eradicate single use plastics… the next challenge, soy fish!
