Why Sushi is the perfect school lunch

Sushi handrolls are full of protein and low in fat. They also contain essential vitamins and minerals like Selenium and Omega 3 fatty acids, and the seaweed wrap is rich in Vitamin A, Iodine and other nutrients. Our brown rice sushi is an even healthier high fibre option.

Sushi@School ensures that your sushi handrolls are delivered fresh to your school. We are a registered food business that specialises in sushi handrolls and adheres to strict quality control and food safety guidelines to give your school peace of mind.

Sushi@School is registered with both the VSCA and Nutrition Australia. We use only cooked ingredients in all our sushi roll fillings and our sushi rice ph levels are strictly monitored in accordance with Council food and safety guidelines.

Our rolls are made fresh on the morning of delivery, packed and delivered to you fully refrigerated. Your school does not need to have refrigeration to be able to serve sushi handrolls or rice paper rolls.

Our fillings are designed to tempt even the fussiest eaters. We have a wide range of filling options tailor made for developing taste buds, including a number of vegetarian choices.

Sushi handrolls can be served quickly in paper bags, require no heating and students of all ages can eat them without utensils. Sushi is a convenient lunch order packed with nutrition.

Sushi handrolls and rice paper rolls are incredibly popular among boys and girls and are enjoyed by children as young as two. Students with special dietary requirements and from different backgrounds can all enjoy sushi handrolls.

The minimum order is 30 rolls per school. Orders under 30 rolls will be honoured, however the shortfall will be made up with extra rolls and the school charged for the extras (surplus rolls can still be sold – given to staff).

Each school’s sushi deadline is different, but as a general rule orders must be received by 12 midday the day before delivery.

An even number of sushi rolls must be ordered for each variety. Also, the minimum order per school is 30 rolls. The school may be charged an additional delivery cost for orders below that number.

Errors are extremely rare but we will work to rectify any issue that may arise if time allows. To this end, customers are asked to check the delivery receipt against the original order and report any discrepancy as soon as possible.

All sushi handrolls are freshly prepared in our hygienically clean kitchen and delivered via temperature-controlled vehicles.

Sushi handrolls should be stored in a refrigerated environment (below 5 degrees), but can be taken out for a short time prior to serving for best quality.

Sushi handrolls, when refrigerated, will keep for 36 hours from manufacture time (see label on packaging). Even at warmer temperatures sushi lasts well – sushi rice ph is carefully monitored each day, which means sushi is able to be stored at 15 degrees for a maximum of 12 hours but should be discarded after this time.

Unused product should be covered in air tight plastic wrap or placed in air tight sealed containers in refrigeration to avoid any chance of spoilage.
